Message from the President
It’s fall and the leaves are changing. With the change of season, we will be winding down another successful program year and also welcoming new MCACHE leadership.
As my time as president comes to an end in December, I am in awe of the many accomplishments our chapter has made this year. I recently traveled to the ACHE chapter leaders meeting with our president elect, Nancy Susick, and board members Rick Hillbom (who presented our
outstanding membership strategies) and Gwendolyn Parker, M.D. It was a great time to reflect on the outstanding leadership, programs and networking we have as an ACHE Distinguished Chapter. The commitment to excellence that our leaders and members have was obvious as we were able to share many best practices throughout the conference. Thank you MCAHCE for all we accomplish together.
This year we are on target to have over 975 members. We have supported the advancement of 20 fellows. We have continued to offer world-class education and networking sessions. We exceeded the ACHE Award for Chapter Excellence targets in both member satisfaction and education/networking hours. This is our fourth consecutive year to receive this distinguished honor. We hosted a very successful fundraiser in a brand new format – we were creative. Our efforts provided $15,000 in scholarships to support ACHE student participation for our five partner Higher Education institutions. I am proud of all we have done and all I know we will do. It has been an honor to serve as your president this past year.
As we host our annual business meeting, we will have a post-election update as well as celebrate members who have earned service awards and wrap up our committee work. I would like to humbly and sincerely thank each of you for allowing me to serve and to work with an outstanding and talented group of people. I would also like to proudly welcome our new elected officers and pass on the leadership baton that you have entrusted to me this year. I wish our incoming president, Nancy Susick and president elect, Gwen Parker, M.D., great success and I look forward to supporting the team.
Have a great holiday season!
